Ornery, nice car. Is that a Lincoln Town Car or is it a Mercury? I love those huge old cars. I bet you also have a C6 tranny and the 9" rear axle, right? Most people would almost kill for those drivetrain parts.

Hah, would they kill for 10mpg? :) That's the 3rd 460 I've owned and the 4th C6. That's a 77 Lincoln Town. I owned a 78 Town with 460/C6 and a 77 Mercury Marquis with the same. Also owned a 78 Marquis with a 400ci/C6. The 460s are much better. Bullet proof muthas. I've heard the ladder frame is from the truck line.

My next purchase will be a 78 Marquis again. Much more standard parts from front to back. I'd love to build it up a bit. When my 78 Lincoln was still running, it moved. I really miss it. This current one has a different cam setup and it just doesn't move like the 78 :(

Ornery: Wouldn't that big car feel slow with only 250hp coming out of a 7.5L engine?? It's a 7.5L!! That's massive..they could atleast have 300hp coming out of that?

Hell, you could get 900HP out of the damn thing if you put a blower on it or raised the compression etc. It's built for low RPM torque and effortless quiet cruising.

Like I said, it's bullet proof. It's never stressed the way it's currently setup. I've run it out of water, 2+ quarts low on oil and never fazed it. Just add the fluid and drive on. No warped heads or collapsed lifters. Never a tic in the 460. Can't say the same for the 400 though. The 400 was a bored over 351 and it was stressed on occasion.

INDIAN,

A stock Ford 460 makes 500 ft/lbs of torque to make those big cars move well, they don't need alot of HP and they don't feel that slow even though tey are not that fast either.

'93 Taurus SHO - 3 liters 225 HP
'66 Shelby GT350H - 289CI ~400 HP (It has LeMans spec engine with Webbers)
'57 Thunderbird - 312CI ~250 HP

hmm.. a VW VR6 engine, 96 model, so it's a 2.8L Super Slim Block DOHC V6, Slim Block as in instead of the regular 60 degree tilt, it's 15 degree. It pumps out 172HP and 173lb/ft torque..

Anyone knows what I can do to increase that? My friend have a 98 Prelude, with intake, headers, exhaust, and it's lowered 2" + he has a kit on it. He tooke me even when he had 4 people in his car and i only have 2.

I'm thinking the Neuspeed intake w/ the K&N filter, get some Borch Platium +4 spark plugs, and maybe the Neuspeed ECU chip, donno how much that'll cost, but probably a lot..

See problem is that I can't do anything that my parents will notice, that means no exhaust and I can't lower the car, which sux, my car is sooo high off the ground, maybe an inch or so...

<<Rebuilt 350 v8 bored to 375, 5.7 Liter>>

You may want to check your math there. You can't get 375 cid from a 350 Chevy simply by boring.
That would be somewhere in the neighborhood of .140" overbore. Not possible.
355" is more likely. (.030 over)

Car #1: 1.5 Liter / 93HP / 4 Speed Manual / 0-62Mhp - grow a beard - acutally about 10 seconds at presnt however with the load off the trunk (the tire) and the engine back to normally aspirated tuning (I have had it de-tuned due to tire spin and burn outs) it would do it in 8-9 sec.

Car #2: 1.8 Liter / 160 HP / 5 Speed Manual / 0 - 62Mph - 8 seconds

Car #3: 2.0 Liter / 120 HP / 3 Speed Auto / 0 - 62 Mph - grow a beard

Car #4: 1.9 Liter / 127 HP / 5 Speed Manual / 0 - 62 Mph - 9 Sec

Car #5: 2.2 Liter Turbo / 250 HP / 6 Speed Manual / 0 - 62 Mph - 5.5 Sec

Car #6: 800 cc / 38 HP / 4 Speed Manual / 0 - 62 Mph - Dont even try - however its like 20 sec+
