I use Avant... so, my browser automatically opens to five homepages; Slashdot, AT forums, dictionary.com, GURPSnet archive, and Penny Arcade. Of course, don't need google.com cuz I use the Google toolbar. I'd use the dictionary.com toolbar too, but Avant doesn't seem to like it. Anyway.

Yahoo. news, weather, movie info, etc.

having google as your homepage is kinda pointless. how often do you need to search EVERY time you open a browser window?

its a blank web page. Just type about:blank in the address bar, and you'll get it.

Wasn't this concept stolen from Netscape. I seem to remember back in my Netscape days, one could type in "about:xxx" where "xxx" were the initials of one of the Netscape programmers, and it would take you to their personal homepage. I believe about:blank was started at the same time. Somehow it found its way into IE.

It loads near as fast as about:blank but is also very useful.

http://www.excite.com

I use the excite portal (customized a personal one) because at the time it was easy and free. It serves as a handy jumping point for links and news and such (plus since I use 3-5 different machines in any given day it gives me a common launching point).

As an added bonus I use the free email as my "spam-drop" address to give to all the freebie and other websites that REQUIRE an email address to register.

Bluesnews

Although, with all the ads that Blue recently put on his site... I'm getting annoyed. I've had the same homepage since sometime back in 96 or around there when Blue started.
