Back in the days of 1.0 I ran ~30 kills to one or two deaths on public servers. Not via sniping, but my regular run-and-gun play. I can't snipe worth a damn.

In 1.5 how do I change my FPS counter from 66 --> 100? either in OpenGL or Direct X mode.

(I'm horrible in CS... maybe the answer to the question will resolve this problem )

fps_max (refresh rate of your monitor)
fps_modem 101

you don't need high fps, you just need to set the fps_max to whatever your monitor refresh rate is. turn v-sync on (they tell you to not in the tweak guides, but it's better for the image, at no visual cause (restricts FPS to whatever your monitor is at, basically).

I use directx now, but back when I played on a NV15 vid card, OpenGL worked much better. try them out. the console commands are the same either way.

one time I got 40-1 on a no cheats server on de_dust2. it was so sick. I'll try to find that screenshot.

No, V-Sync makes the video card wait until the monitor's next cycle begins before sending an image. if his max fps is 66hz, he's got problems other than low fps.

why? how bads your system? are you running a crt that can actually display 100hz? or an lcd that can't even display 66fps in a best case scenario and probably displays far less.

ah well, i suck at cs, i barely kill more then i get killed.

still waiting for the csrealism.com update(high polygon/high texture models/guns, damn steam broke it. now 1.6 is so ugly its horrific.
