Too risky for me. I guess one could have looked at March and said that this is the low and threw money into it. My home is paid for and I'm putting the extra money into the market as it's available. That's good enough for me! 🙂

(oh, by the way...let one stock take a sudden dive on you and you'll feel different...but since you're up 151%, you've got "house" (no pun intended) money to play with...I would sell enough to pay the house off and play with the rest).

Much too risky for me too. We started saving our cash after we paid off our house and bought our first rental property in January. The return may not be as high as the stock market, but I prefer the tangible product.

Now just have to see if I can handle being a slumlord.

38 have about $40,000 in ammo the only thing that will matter soon as LA riots erupt nationwide.😛

24 and no, you can not come and rob me. Jokes on you, I never have more than $20 in my wallet.

Edit: Holy crap, getting to my head. I'm 24 in 2 and a haldf weeks, still 23.

how many rioters do you think you'll take down? go full zombie apocalypse on them, don't hold back!

We are experiencing the foreshocks of an impending socioeconomic seismic event of immense magnitude, and life-altering proportions. Don't get caught sleeping on the fault line. It won't be the end of the world, simply the end of the world as you know it.

DOH....LOL! 😳

I've never drank alcohol (any) so I wouldn't know without someone telling me! 😛

(but 151% wouldn't surprise me. I looked at Ford just over a year ago with a co-worker....it was $1.03 a share on that day (lowest point of 10 years) and said that I would buy that if my wife would let me (see above $59,000 loss as to why I could not buy stock)...Ford closed over $14 today! :crying: )

lol.. saw that $1/share for Ford too. should have bought also.

also, should have bought THrifty car rental. i use them alot when i travel, so was surprised when they shares were in the gutter. 😱 look up the gains *Cries*

I told my dad to buy at $1 said I was and then chickened out, thought F was hiding something. Dad sold for $5 something.

By the way, I just looked at all of my accounts, added in the tax value of my home and cars minus the monthly credit card balance (paid in full each month) and I'm shocked...completely shocked!😱

😱

:sneaky:

Another coworker bought it when it was $2.20 or so and still has it. Problem was that he also bought GM when it was around $6.00 per share and rode it to ZERO. Still ahead because he bought the same dollar amount of each though.

23
car: 5k (that was 2 years ago, I'm sure it went down)
House: 3k paid off so far (original mortgage: 151k)
bank: 500 bucks (lol)

Soo... maybe like 8.5k net worth? lol.

I guess I could go into details and start counting all the stuff I own. Oh wait, I still owe 3k on my furniture (that's why my bank account is so low, I just put all extra cash towards it).

So make that 5.5k LOL

That's still pretty good for 23. When I was that age I had a new 4-runner paid off and about 149,000 in house debt. e.g. -$125,000

I was curious about this a few days ago and looked up these stats: (from 2006)

Under 35 – $15,000
35 to 44 – $140,000
45 to 54 – $230,000
55 to 64 – $407,000
65 and older – $300,000

I thought that was terribly low?

Well, I'm 47 as of last month and the cars in my sig are worth more than that number so I guess I don't have much to worry about relative to the average.

No. it was VA so about $1300 down with zero equity.

So you bought a house that was worth nothing and paid $149,000 on it? I'm confused!?!? Surely it was worth at least $149,000 canceling out the $149,000 that you paid for it, no? :hmm:
