I bought this card about 10 days ago from NewEgg and thus far I'm having some pretty impresive results.

I'm up to 1165 on the core 100% stable and running at about 74c..

I'm working on pushing the memory now. I feel like I'm getting some great results without even increasing the voltage yet.

What about everybody else?

I'd like to make it to 1200 on the core... Maybe you guys can help me get there. :)

That's a good bit beyond what i've been hearing the card is capable of. To get to 1200 probably gong to have to touch the volts.

See if it survives 90 minutes of OCCT torture with zero errors. Even if fans were 100% I doubt it would survive more than a few minutes before the error avalanche started.

Edit: I am assuming you are using stock cooling and not something like water cooling or liquid nitrogen or DICE.

ill believe it when you post screenshots of OCCT showing no errors after 30+ min.

OP, let me assure you that not everybody here cares about post count. Some of us even care about the content of what you write! Welcome to the forums!

that must be one magical 6870 to do about 200MHz more than what anybody else seems to get without voltage adjustments. heck the only one I have seen at that speed was that one at 1200 with lots of voltage and having to run at 5C. throw in the fact that you are reporting temps 5-10 degrees lower than what a stock XFX 6870 does at its 265MHz lower default clocks and I am really doubting your claims. :\

Well, you beat me to it.
The only card I ever seen do that is a 5850 or GTX 460.

I pretty much second what everyone else here is saying. Run OCCT with error checking on, give it about 2 minutes, and the errors will start piling in. I thought I had a stable overclock with my gtx465 @ 850mhz with fan speed at 70% (which is already 0too loud for my tastes). OCCT showed me that 840mhz with 100% fan speed was the absolute fastest my card could do for 20 minutes without errors, and 800mhz with a max fan of 60% was where I settled.

possible, but not likely without voltage

Like others have said, you're going to have to prove that around here. I hope it's true, because I want to see the benches. :)
