What is wrong with this 3DMark2001SE score?

Nope, ran it right after my 2003 test and everything was looking good when I did. I have now ran it 4 times and each time it has been a similar score. I just found 2 other scores with a similar system that have scores of 21k+ and 22k+.

Are you still using unapproved drivers? Strange readings on the 03 score. Core & mem showing up as 5/3MHz.

Also part of what might be holding you back is your ound card. You are using onboard sound and it isn't Soundstorm which means it uses the CPU as the APU. Therefore its eatin up processes.

Also try with the 62.11's there available at neowin.net , Im interested to see if they fix that, and if they improve your score.

This is not true. 3Dmark01/03 don't even use sound in the benchmarks for this very reason. Even so, with a ~3GHz CPU, onboard would only drop performance by about 1% or less. It's a non-issue.

I'd also suggest the older drivers.

2001 doesn't but 2003 does. Also it will drop by more than 1%. Without an APU it goes to the CPU the difference would be very apparent. I would personally look at a sound card. Also try the new drivers for Nvidia.

That score is about right, you are CPU limited in 3D'01.

No!!!!!!! :brokenheart:

I actually knew that but I am almost positive my score should go up a decent amount because of the video card. To only gain 500ish makes my GT cry.

Why? It's just another outdated vid card bench ;)

This is true but I always go through this anxiety when I get a new video card or system. I need some raw data to make me happy with my purchase. :)

Now that I have Far Cry I would like to benchmark it and compare those numbers to other systems. Know of any good Far Cry benchmarks to download and try?

I should be over 22k with my current system but for some reason I only improved 500 over my system when it had the 9800 Pro installed. My 2003 score jumped up over 5k though.

I have all settings on high performance and no AA and AF. Any ideas?

Why "should" you be getting 22k? Do a search of the ORB, there is no 6800 GT thats over 20k, with a 3gig P4. Not even when the P4 is at 250FSB and with an overclocked 6800 GT.

In my tests the X800's do better on 2001, but the 6800's do better on 2003. With my system at stock, 3400+, and 6800 GT I get just 22.7k. The CPU plays a pretty large part in the overall score. Your score is actually right on with the oter 6800 GT's and 3gig P4's.

Since I just got Far Cry yesterday I have not really been keeping up with patch 1.2. Is it ok to download it and DX9.0C and play it that way? Any benefit?
