10 K bail, huh.

Good thing I can't be on the jury. I may be forgiving of many things, but don't screw with kids.

Maybe that wasn't intentional - she jus wanted to see what the girl would look like inside the washing machine and put her there

this reminded me of a clip I saw (I think) on RealTV (help me out here...) of a woman whose child crawled into one when she wasnt looking and she started it...they had the whole surviellence footage on TV and the washer in that one, as well, was locked..they eventually had to smash it similiarly to what happened here.

"Efforts by the girl's mother and bystanders to unlock the door failed" so does that mean the mother was NOT trying to kill the child??? if not then what the heck was she doing. idiot.

I remember seeing some comedian on TV make a great point. We live in a country where you need a license to do something as simple as drive a car, need to be of a certain age to smoke cigarettes, etc. He made the point that we need a license or a certification to do many things in today's society, and pointed out how amazing it is that we don't place any kinds of regulations on conception. And I'm starting to realize how ironic it really is.

Indeed. The problem with mankind is that we've done a good job beating darwinism, so just about any idiot survives.

If she did it intentionally, she's a sick and demented mother.

If they were just playing around and the mother put her in because the girl was begging for a ride in one, well, she's a really stupid and ingnorant mother. I don't think you can have much intelligence to not intuitively conclude that placing your daughter in a running washer would be foolhardy and dangerous.

So either way, there's no defending her actions. Unless the child crawled in when she wasn't looking. But the video footage shows her putting the child in one, then moving her to a front-loading washer. So that rules out any form of "accident."

Umm... it says people tried and failed to get her out? If it had been my child in that washer drowning, failing wouldn't have been an option. She would have been removed from the washer.
