What is wrong with my Logitech mouse scrolling?!?

The mouse scroll on my logitech Codless Comfort Duo is wretched. In games if you scroll it one way it keeps scrolling until you scroll back the opposite directoin, which essentially makes it worthless. I've played around with different settings but haven't gotten anything to work. I'm using the current logitech drivers for this setup. What do I need to do for this to work properly?

Then windows wouldn't let me use the thumb button, of course WITH the logitech drivers it's not recognized as an independent button anyway--just a double click.

Yes, running the logitech drivers will screw up logitech mice. Just use the default microsoft scroll built into windows. You'll be a lot happier.

Yes, this is why publications such as maximum PC recommend only using microsoft mice. Umm....I'm sure that there's a workaround out there somewhere and I'm sure that it's long and ridiculous. Hopefully someone here will know it.

someone does, there is a small hack you can do with tweak UI. check out the MX700/500 thread here for that info

Crap, something else I just noticed... isn't using the MS drivers going to give me a lower sample rate as well?

No, the sample rate is a function of the mouse, not the drivers.

Disable the scroll wheel in the Logitech Mouse Control panel. Download and install TweakUI (download.com, search for TweakUI) Goto the Mouse tab and Enable Scrolling.

This will use the standard scroll wheel support in Windows instead of the busted Logitech scroll support...

On a side note this damned bug has been in Logitech's drivers for 2 years now!!!!! You think they would have fixed it by now!
