WoW = World of Warcraft

It's a video game?

Yes made by blizzard. Company that did Diablo series and Starcraft series.

OK, I'll bite... What's it about? I could Google it now, but I'd rather get a quick synopsis. Why is it so addictive?

WoW is a game that I was addicted to for 4 or 5 months. I had to give it up as it was taking up WAY too much of my time.

Also, WoW stands for "Wide Open West" they are a Cable Compan, ISP, and Telco.
They just recently started offering 6mbit service, so I'm thinking of upgrading (I am on their 4mbit service, as that was the top tier when I signed up with them in October)

It's in the same vein as Everquest, Asheron's Call, Star Wars Galaxies, etc. This one takes place in the Blizzard created world of Azeroth (where the games Warcraft and Warcraft II happened). You can play Orc, Human, or undead races.

I don't know why people find these games so addicting. They can be fun, but I don't find them addicting.

It's an online Role Playing Game with a huge amount of players to interact with..some people sitting at home and some computer controlled (NPC's - Non Player Characters).

Basically, it's like sitting in front of you computer for 14 hours a day (not me...never played it past beta) and living in a fantasy world as an Orc, Undead, Dwarf, Human, Night Elf, etc... and leveling up by killing stuff and going on adventures with clan mates or friends or whoever.

I'm gonna quit just 'cause Blizzard's too cheap to upgrade their servers, causing frequent drops and massive lags every damn day.
