Or it's just a late winter. It's been rather rainy and snowless here in Michigan, too.

Yeah Im in Upstate NY and it's right around 50 degrees right now. That's unheard of for here. We haven't had any snow yet and there's none in the forecast for a long time. Global Warming FTW!!!!

-7 (F for you Canadians) here. Gonna be -30 tomorrow night. I've given up on global warming. I'm moving someplace warm.

It's like 7 above here, but we also got almost 2 feet of snow today. My brother's been on vacation for 3 weeks, and in that 3 weeks it snowed like 46 inches. I went to airport parking to clear off his car... except I couldn't find the damn thing. Guess he's on his own when he gets back tomorrow.

I like the cold though, so I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park!

my point is that it rarely snows more than a few inches in Anchorage if the temperature is in single-digits. That qualifies at as weird weather in my book. Usually the days when we get 2-3 feet, the temp is closer to 30, not 7 or 8.

Yea its 50 in iOwa. Usually -10 in January with 10" of snow as well.
Somethings up. And I think climate changes happen a lot faster than they think. Like within a few years, not hundreds of years. I wouldnt want to live along the west coast just now...

I live in Washington State and it's been really damn cold. Also, we've had more snowfall than I've seen the past 10+ years.

It may be the warmest winter in a 100 years here in Vermont.
It is eerily warm.

I'm flying back to DC today... so I decree after my plane lands on time the cold, snowy, windy weather may commence!

I wonder if it is something to do with another La Niña or El Niño? One of those two that occur every 2-7 years cause the weather to be on the warmer side in the Northeastern part of the US during winter.

It also seems we have high pressure over the east quite often, which seems to keep the jet stream flowing a more direct west->east pattern, instead of west --> drooping south flow. This keeps the cold north.

Maybe the constant high pressure over the east is one of the symptoms of the effects of La Niña or El Niño?

The snowbelt in NY is going to get hammered once some arctic air moves across the great lakes... Record warm for Lake Erie for this time of year.

It is El Nino this year and that explains the warm weather on the Eastern Seaboard and the boatloads of snow in the Rockies...

It was over 50 here in WI yesterday. Far above the normal temperature. We had one big blizzard a while back and now everything is gone and the grass is growing.

Thats what I thought. I was not sure which one though.

Even one of the farmers almanac's predicted a winter with very little snow and above average temperatures. My mother-in-law and wife were all saying "oh.. bull$hit.. we get hammered every year".. blah blah...
