i don't understand the blatant lack of respect for people working "nonskilled" jobs lately.
pizza deliver, waitressing, construction worker etc.
any one that does any kind of job well deserves respect. to mock someone because they didn't hvae some of the educational opportunities or skills you had is just weak.
a good receptionist is worth good money. a bad receptionist is not worth much.
but how is that any different from doctor? a good doctor is worth good money, a bad doctor? why do they continue to get paid well? just because they have skills?
some of the most important skills in an employee are not things that show up on a resume. i've met many many doctors who aren't worth the dirt on the bottom of my shoes because of their attitudes and manners. and yet, i've seen very very good receptionists, nurses and staff make that practice work because they have the all important people skills.
