What is with people liking traveling?

Really... I don't understand why people like traveling so much. I will admit that I am biased, as I was a military brat. I had been to 15 countries (and around 40 US states) before I was 11 years old. Driving with my parents all over Europe and the U.S.

But, really, what makes someone want to travel so much? Is it just the adventure of seeing a new place?

Here is my list: Canada, U.S., Mexico, Germany, Russia, France, Belgium, Luxenburg, Holland, Spain, England, Japan, Korea, Austria, and Turkey.

it's exactly what you said...experiencing things that you otherwise wouldn't get to experience...

it is a fun thing to see different cultures and places.

...to see how other people live. it doesn't even have to be a foreign country. people are very different people in rural virginia vs. manhattan vs. denver, co ... it's fun to see these differences

maybe because you were so young you didn't get to appreciate all the wonders of the different countries.

Well, I?m sure I didn't at the time. But I still remember it all... The majority of the traveling was done in a 2 years period when we lived in Germany. I remember going the Louvre (Mona Lisa, etc.), Eiffel tower, white water rafting in Austria at age 10, Red Square in Moscow (along with visiting Lenin?s tomb), Dutch Windmill?s, and lots of other stuff.

I always feel bad, when girlfriend or family wants to me to travel to see them and I'm the only one who doesn't want to do it.

I enjoyed meeting new people and their cultures both here and abroad. You can learn a lot too.

Like Roger said...ADVENTURE.

I don't know. I've never been anywhere but the US and Canada... but then again.. that could be why I don't understand.

it's too much money man!!!!

Why not quit and get a job at McDonalds? I hear they're hiring 🙂

Regarding the original post, travelling gives you an appreciation for different cultures while showing you that people are all the same on a basic level.
