When I drive (in a parking lot) I never stop unless I have to to avoid hitting someone. I'm including the stop signs you see by the crosswalks as well. Those are not legally binding stop signs, so they can fuck off.

It depends in your state but in some they are legally binding and you can get a ticket for it.

which is what this thread is about...

pedestrians in crosswalks... in a parking lot.

nothing more.
nothing else.

everyone else is making it into a pedestrian jumping into the middle of the highway thread.

You said that you'd walk blindly INTO a crosswalk. I'm pretty sure that's what everyone too exception to.

This thread was never about laws. This thread was never about drivers driving though crosswalks. This thread was about common sense. It was a weak rant about people not looking out for their own safety because they don't feel the need to look, right of way or not.

Quite honestly, I never thought there would be such an argument over it. For those in here who don't feel it necessary to look before you cross, it will never affect me because I always allow pedestrians to cross. So by all means, keep the zombie walk...but as Russel Peters says, "Someone gonna get hurt a real bad"

Indeed. He's either trolling or braindead.

The very law he posted contradicts his dumbass argument: "No pedestrian shall suddenly [walk] into the path of a moving vehicle that is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard." I'm not sure how one could comply with that without looking before entering the crosswalk.

And in case some idiot thinks that section only means "don't jump into the highway", the title of the statute is "Pedestrians' right-of-way in crosswalks."
