What is with 65 teams in the NCAA tournament?

I just heard on ABC that there will be 65 teams in this years NCAA tournament. Since, when did they add the 65th team to the brackets and how is this going to work? They said something about a playoff. Is this true?

BTW: Duke beats UNC, GO DUKE

No it's true, there are 65 teams in the tourney this year. I'll look for info on it, but ABC is right.

65 teams, but the two worst will have a play-in...so it's still pretty much 64

i think they did 65 because the number of conferences with automatic bids increased...I heard that #64 will play #65, and the winner faces the #1 seed from the midwest region.
