I wondered this very thing before the war. When would it be over? Victory sounds so sweet, until one tries to determine a scenario where this could come about, in terms the administration might accept as winning. Unfortunately, this is like that ill phrased "War on Terror". Nonsense. When will that be over? When the threat of terrorism is gone. Well, there always was that threat, and always will be. So we are now a country at war forever, or until Americans grow a pair and look at the world as it works, and try to lessen hostilities not provoke them.

In Iraq though, victory was lost the momemt the first shot was fired.

What is victory? Bringing our soldiers home, and that day is a long way off.

I support some and reject others. I admire him because he has had the gall to stand up for many of his beliefs, and to make convincing arguments for them.

Agreed. Buchanan wouldn't make a good President, but he sometimes is spot on. This article is one of those times.
