Maybe whoever wrote the article thought that gaming is cpu dependant like many do.
Well, it depends on the game. But basically if you don't have a DECENT GFX card, then it doesn't matter what CPU you have, and vice versa. Bottlenecks man.

That's not an excellent deal. For that much, you could just get a 165 opteron and get better formance with less effort.Originally posted by: guozimingyeah that article was pretty stupid. but, the watercooling wasn't such a bad idea, especially for the 805. If you think about it, if you can get the 805 stable at 4ghz with a WC kit that keeps the CPU + cooling cost under $300, it's an excellent deal. I only trust THG for articles that can't really be wrong, like overclocking the 805.

Dumb article. You need to buy a watercooling setup and a good PSU to handle the watercooling and all the power the OCed CPU requires... all for a budget system running a X1300. Bunch of morons. If you want to OC, go with a 930 that you can OC to 4ghz on the stock HSF (and you don't need an extreme PSU), and invest in a better GPU.

No you can't, an opteron 165 costs $330 almost everywhere but mwave.
