What is up with the P4 atx power supply?

im wondering what type power supply i need to go with my p4 1.7ghz

i have a 300 watt powersupply in there now

what type are the new p4 power supply.. and where can i get one

Never touched a P4 in my life but from what I've read you need a ATX12V plug which is a small 2x2 plug to supply extra juice. It should all be part of a ATX 2.03 compliant power supply. The P4 also need a case that can accomodate the motherboard. There are adapter plates available to do that.

just look for one that says p4 ready... i can't remember the exact atx specification (maybe atx+12V... or something like that) but basically it adds an extra 4pin (special) header to plug into your motherboard

Actually, most of the MoBos now fit into regular decent cases!😉 I have a 1.4 in a Enlight and a 1.7 in a Tornado case!😉
