<< I don't consider myself a nerd, just someone with a sense of humor most days.:D >>

everybody here is a nerd, by today's standards if you have any education at all you can be considered a nerd. nerds are basically just people who hang around with other people with generaly technical interests such as computers.
i think nerd is a good thing considering the alternative, the non nerds in real life are the unsuccessful ones who end up being the assistant manager of McDonwalds or Wendies (legal protection)

How may I McHelp you? You want fries wit dat?

NonTechGuy,
Yeah, I was going by the typical "Revenge of the Nerds" type definition. I definitely don't fall into that category. I'm a senior engineer with a defense contractor but I participate in all sorts of sports (motorcycling, skiing, skydiving, racquetteball, etc), I care about how I look to a certain extent, and my most important relationship is not with my computer but with my wife and daughter (see previous post for link to pics). But I do have to agree with you, nerds come up with some of the greatest responses.

Ha ha ha, I just read your sig, I haven't heard that one before.

What you're seeing, is how AT is morphing as it tries to accomidate a much larger audience. Initially this was a pure computer forum where 99% were geeks and nothing else; they came here to learn/see new stuff/help others with problems/share tips, ect.. Now it's very diverse, and each section is developing their own "etiquette" and not being real nice at times when someone inadvertantly breaks an unwritten rule. This territorial issue has been growing and getting worse; if things don't settle down you may see AT spiral down into some type of AOL chat room as people leave for different forums where things are more civil.

everyone can help by having slightly thicker skins, enter each session by looking at it as learning/teaching/sharing, and don't take things personally. If everyone would use their posts to either help or share info, it would go a long ways towards making AT more useful to everyone.

hmmmmmm, never realized how uncomfortable that soap box is!!!! :D

<< Damn, HappyFace, thanks for the visual, blech! :)

baffled2,
I think AnandTech should implement the "vote people off" option just so that HappyFace would have to follow through on his request :Q;)
>>

LOL,I don't know about that, I do know that the visual definately made breakfast a non-option here for me in Boston :D
>>

Sorry. I'll try to keep crazy poopy toilet comments to myself until after breakfast time, from now on. :)
