What is UDMA 5 mean?

I got a promise ATA100 TX2, and when it boots, it shows the western digital drive that's on there, as running at UDMA 5, is that fast, or is that in some standard mode?

It means it detected your drive as UDMA5 or ATA100. If you had an ATA66 drive connected it would say UDMA4. ;)

Ya, I've got the same card in my server and it is very nice. It is supposed to have better error checking too (compared to the Promise ATA100).
