From what i know it seems to be quiet, in the middle of nowhere, and filled with dudes on bikes? Anything outstanding about it, hows the social life, parties?

I didn't attend UC Davis but my brother did and I used to pick him up from time to time. All I have to say is that if you do make it in there then you're in chick heaven. There are so many and I do mean many cute chicks no matter where you look. First time I was there I thought I somehow died and gone to heaven. sigh the good old days.

flat farm land, cows .. minutes away from Sacramento

only good thing about Davis is cheap housing and hours away from Tahoe.

Dude, isn't Davis a nerd school? That's what I thought it was, but I am probably mistaken.

In any case, ask the Kelvrick or Hatari Chic, both of who go to UCD.

i go to Davis and its a pretty nice school. huge campus, everyone bikes everywhere, not enough parking, hot chicks, cow smell, etc etc. Great parties just like every other school. Minutes away from Sacramento and a couple hours from the mountains if you want snow.

Davis IS in the middle of nowhere, but you can be in the East Bay in an hour, and Sac in 15 minutes, so it's not that bad. It's hotter than hell in the summer though, just like sac, but you'll probably be back home then anyway. Davis is a college town like any other, really, but less scenic than a lot (think Santa Cruz) of course, unless you're majoring in underwater basketweaving, Davis is the superior school. I think the reason that it's as good a school as it is might be partly due to it's location in the middle of the valley. No one wants to go there to party or anything, so it's attracted a crowd of people who actually want to go to school to get an education. That's not to say you'll never find a party there, but it's definitely not Santa Barbara, just regular college parties, but not a party school. Davis is a nice little town.

I've only driven past on the way to Tahoe, but it looks like it's in the middle of some flat farmland to me. Sacramento fairly close, but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

It might be cool, but I'd definitely try spending a day or two there to check it out beforehand.

Davis is about 25000 students, so it is what you make of it. Life doesn't come to you, nor will college life :) Davis won't set you back and you'll have your opportunity to do whatever you like.

I graduated 2 years ago, but am about to return next fall. UCD staff tuition discount is pretty nice :)

Davis is hot, but I think you'll get used to it once you live there. Davis is a nice little town (like nofred said), and the people there are nice. But be aware.. if you DO go to Davis, choose your dorm carefully.. you don't want to smell cow sh!t all day long :)

the town is void of almost everything

but the chicks are oh-so-cute

all the brainiest girls from high school got into UCLA or Berkeley. a large chunk of the cuter, yet-still-smart girl settled on Davis :p

Its a suburban college town alright. Nothing too major, Sac just a little down the road. Has everything your normal town would have in good locations to campus. Fair priced housing. But I hear its packed.

UC Riverside == the suck, but then I go here.
