What is this?

?? some sort of grasshoper thingy

Ive seen those around the polo grounds at first glance they look like leaves but when you get closer you see the legs and such.

haha thats pretty fun-e. Could it be a walking stick? I talked to my friend who is an agricultural bio major and said it could be a walking stick, they are kinda of a cross between a grasshopper and a praying mantis.

This is like 3-4" long. Can grasshoppers get that big? And I thought locusts were more of a brownish color. This is definately a grass color.

hahaha thats what i was thinking. And the measurement I gave above was its body only....antennae adds about 2-3 inches.
 
Looking at the pics in the last link provided, I think its either a katydid or a bush cricket because of its hind legs. Its body is more like a katydid but its antennae are more like the bush cricket.
