I was checking my Gmail if that matters. The page was loading and didn't even finish when this popped up. It asked me if I wanted to download some sort of security program (DriveCleaner). It said it was recommended, and naturally, I said no. When I said no, that page popped up.

It is still up, so a quick response will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Just read that page more thoroughly and it leads me to believe that it is nothing to be worried about. The information on it is incorrect as I only have one credit card and I have never used it on the Internet.

It looks like a fishing or worm type scam to me I would close the browser and clear all cookies and the cashe then run both A/V and spyware scans. there are several good online scanners available just check out Johns sticky at the top of the forum list. I just looked and did not see it but there is a link here

I shall try and then post the results.

EDIT: Scanned and found nothing but a couple of Tracking Cookies. Nothing unusual.

Does anyone know why that popped up while trying to check my e-mail?

It could be a rogue ad in the rotation. Report it to Google. 🙂
