Wow, the nerd is strong in this thread. I'm totally way out of my league here. I have no idea what any of that shit is.

I don't normally watch anime, but I was turned on to Last Exile through it's gorgeous steampunk art. Truth be told it wasn't all that as a story either, but it has some really nice eye candy. The red vanship has to be one of my all-time fave vehicles.

I don't see any direct evidence that it's necessarily steampunk and could by any sub genres of cyberpunk.

I wish Joss Whedon would make a steam punk tv series.

that would be be soooooooooo badass!

but i think he's gunshy about doing another tv series since his last 2 were canceled after only 2yrs :(

There was a Sci Fi channel miniseries called Tin Man that was pseudo Steampunk. Had a lot of potential to be good, but they ruined it. Zooey Deschanel is always nice to look at though.

I had to verify that since I apparently did not know he did Doll House. Was it any good? I'm a huge Angel and Firefly fan. I was just getting to thinking after his work on Firefly, he could easily do steam punk. Making a western in space was genius.

Unfortunately, it'd probably get low ratings too.
