What is this "runner's high" you speak of

It's the feeling of your energy being completely drained, you so out of breath that your lungs can't keep up and yet you're still running. This came for me after 2 km after years of no running.

qft. i've played soccer since i was a kid, but running by itself is boring as shit.

i feel the EXACT same. running sucks because it's boring. i've never gotten a runner's high... i've ran 5 miles and never gotten the high... i dunno, i guess i've never really gotten in the zone because i've been too busy fighting myself by bitching about running and wondering how soon before i can quit. maybe that kind of thinking keeps you from ever getting the high.
 
I usually get it near the end of the run with maybe a mile left. I'm really tired and I dunno just for some reason my pace and my legs and everything is just in sync and it feels awesome.
 
I run fucking 100 miles a week and I get this so-called "Runner's High" once a month if I'm lucky. It's not so much a high and more of just when everything is perfect; you're well-rested, the weather is nice, you're running a nice course, and you just keep going without even noticing that you're running. Most of the time I am fully aware of the fact that I am running and how much work it is though. Read Once a Runner and all will be revealed about the fabled "Runner's High," as popularized and perpetuated by "Jogger's World."

I would've given up if I weren't in the special forces and giving up makes me look like shit. At first, I thought I was pass out. Then runner's high hit me.
Man, it felt like I was walking on the cloud and everything felt damn fresh and good. Since then, running has become the best joy and I started to outrun everyone in the company.

I loved running when I was in the Army. We had a couple platoon sargeants that were running lunatics, we'd be off post by reveille, and not come back until about half an hour before 9AM formation. Runners high was almost a daily occurance, just getting in that zone, and it seems you can run forever, man I miss that.
 
I don't have a runners body so I'm sure I'll never feel it. The most I could ever run without stopping was 3 miles. I've always been the "big" stocky guy but never fat. I hate running no matter what. Only reason I go now is cus I'm with my dog and streaming some music through my phone.
 
A couple months ago I ran 10 miles in the afternoon of a 100 degree high temp summer day and thought I was going to die. Is that what a runner's high feels like? Like you're going to die? Seems to me the high would come in somewhere in between starting out and becoming a slowly cooking carcass on the asphalt, but I must have missed it or something.
