What is this? New MSI RX 570 card, only 6-pin PCI-E power, " uses x8" PCI-E.

What is this card? I've not seen the RX 570/580/590 Polaris cards, only utilizing x8 PCI-E lanes.

Yet, where have we seen this before? RX 5500 (XT)?

Could this card, actually be an RX 5500 GPU die (Navi 12?) inside, being sold as an RX 570?

That would indeed be kind of neat, kind of like the GTX 2060 KO models, using a gimped higher-spec GPU die.

If it's really 7nm, how would be tell? And could they release an "RX 570 low-power edition", that didn't even need PCI-E power? (Maybe cut shaders to ~1500?) That would make a really nice counter to a GTX 1650 / D6 / Super cards.

Edit: The card still "recommends" a 450W PSU. Are there any other RX 570 cards that take a 6-pin PCI-E rather than a 6+2-pin? Are they likewise "uses x8" on the PCI-E? I wonder if there's a connection between the two stats?

I'm liking these cards, though, for the lesser-powered rigs, some factory OEM systems come with 6-pin PCI-E, but not 6+2-pin PCI-E, as do some older (generally so old they that they shouldn't be in service anymore, really) after-market PSUs too.

Probably leftover mining card because its SP and memory spec are identical to 570.
