What is this new mouse surface everyone is talknig about?

Teflon has been around for years. People are taking teflon tape and taping it to the bottom of the mouse for uber smoothness.

I have optical mice...so do I remove the little rubber feet from the mouse before attaching teflon tape? How many strips do I need on the bottom surface...or is it better to cut it up into little squares and just replace the stock rubber feet with teflon 'feet'?

Leave the existing feet on there and tape over them. Plan on treplacing the tape every month or so, depending on how much you use your mouse and on what surfaces.
