Yes, it sounds good...but its not. Its like every other Stephen King book made into a TV movie...meaning it sucks. The sole exception was the original Salem's Lot, which was a pretty good movie.

I like It.

Sorry man, I shouldn't have been so quick to judge. I haven't seen It, so I amend my statement to "every other Stephen King book made into a TV movie that I've seen sucked...except for the original Salem's Lot...".

Langoliers was especially horrible.

The Mist is good--Decent special effects and great ending.

The Mist was fucking fantastic!!!

But I specifically said "TV" movie, not normal theatrical releases. I also loved The Shining and Shawshank, and thought the Green Mile was decent. I liked the one about the kids going to find the dead body (Stand by Me?), Silver Bullet was OK, but I thought Christine, Cujo, and Maximum Overdrive were just utterly dumb beyond belief.

The Stand was a tad over six hours long, and was show in one hour increments once a week for 6 weeks. I recorded the first three weeks, then they were erased on accident. :(
Not really any good anyway.

I remember watching The Stand and The Langoliers back in the mid 90s. I thought they were pretty good, but it's been over a decade since I've seen them.

Possibly the worst butchering of King ever (but this is very debatable, there are so many choices) was "The Running Man". Another GREAT story from a 4-book collection (The Bachman Books) that was made into another Hollywood disaster.
