Who guessed 5 years? Is this a show for the republican family base of ABC?

Funny you should say that, because one of the broads that answered 5 years just admitted to being a Democrat.

ZOMG Democrats and Republicans are stupid!?!?!?!?

Oh noes, an elitist prick thinks I'm retarded. BTW, I don't think anyone in OT gives a sh1t about your crusade against Republicans and conservatives.

Yeah I saw that. That net censor lady had two things working against her, stupid and ugly. :p

Technically, it takes several thousand to over a hundred thousand years for light to reach Earth from the sun...it depends on if you're measuring from the surface to earth, or from the core to earth:

http://sunearthday.nasa.gov/20...tions/ttt_sunlight.php
When this random walk process is applied to the interior of the sun, and an accurate model of the solar interior is used, most answers for the age of sunlight come out to be between 10,000 and 170,000 years.

It's weird to think that the light we're seeing right now may have been created when modern humans just started coming around.

Eh, the wife and I watched this show (the wife loves the trivia shows), and although the questions are our style (modern type questions and not impossible Jeopardy questions), there was way too much fluff. They only asked like 13-14 questions in an hour and a half. Plus, Mike from ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike Show isn't that great as a host.

Oh well, this will only be on for a week. I'm sure we'll be watching it a couple more times.

Is that who the host was? My wife and I were talking about how he pretty much sucked as a host. I thought the play mechanics of the show were interesting, but yes, too much fluff.
Commercial, answer one question, get next question, commercial.

Were you spying on me? :p
I never knew that much about the Jonestown Massacre until last night.
I laughed when they pointed out that it was Flavor-Aid, not Kool-Aid.
Then they showed the picture of a dead baby, and I felt bad.

I think I'm switching over to Intervention on A&E.

is that the one Dr. Drew was advertising? or is it something else
Sorry I didn't see your question last night. Intervention is a show on A&E. The show with Dr. Drew you're referring to is Celebrity Rehab. That show starts on January 10th on VH1.

And I'm definitely going to be watching that one! ;)

Did they specify which sun?

LOL, Coasties get no respect.

but that is almost a trick question since they are part of the Dept of Homeland Security and not under the Dept of Defense

During peacetime the USCG falls under the administration of the United States Department of Homeland Security. During wartime, the USCG may, at the direction of the President of the United States, report to the Secretary of the Navy but does not become part of the US Navy and is not part of the Department of Defence; however, its boats and cutters are integrated into U.S. military operations (see 14 U.S.C. § 3 & 14 U.S.C. § 4).

I actually liked it, compared to other game shows recently...the gambling with chips premise is pretty nice. No big twists, no lifelines, it's all on you and how confident you are about your answer. It's also a game that can be played at home, although the biggest problem is that they only went through like 10 questions in the 1.5 hour time span :p

And as much as I like Mike "Greeny", he's not a great host. Needs to get involved more instead of just saying "shield up/down" and "this is Duel on ABC"

Jonestown is enough of an example to base an entire sociology and psychology course on. If you watch the whole course it's almost scary how a large group of people can act when one bad person is around.

1) Stop watching prime time TV.
2) Stop watching ABC
3) Close your eyes.

Well, they went through questions MUCH faster on tonight's show. And hooray for the Kentucky guy playing smart! Being a KY native, I always cringe when my fellow statesmen find themselves on television. Luckily this guy is from the hills, but doesn't talk too much like a hick, and seems fairly intelligent.
