No I fixed the link in the OP. I didn't intend to link to the Sol 65 pic, but rather the Sol 61 pic which is the link in the first post.

Why can't there be a microscopic imprint? The soil on Mars is apparently a very fine ash like substance.

Look at the shadows. It is an optical illusion. If you look at it what looks to be slots for the screws is actually raised dirt.
