If your into bars and stuff you might want to check out Laclede's Landing there are also alot of good restraunts there. The Oz from what I hear is a pretty decent club. Union Station is worth a visit also.

What type of cuisine are you looking for?

Downtown or otherwise?

Are you visiting alone or with family (kids)?

Details, man!

;)

Museums & other stuff

Art Museum at Forest Park (about 10 min west of downtown)

Laumeir Sculpture Park <--- I love this place. It's a sanctuary for me of sorts. (30 min west of downtown)

The City Museum (downtown) Another great place...mainly geared for kids, but could be fun if you're a child at heart. (downtown)

St. Louis Union Station Former train station, now shops & restaurants. Recently banned Nelly from entering, so make you take off all of your gang-related apparel from entering ;).

I'll edit and do restaurants later if you like.

three thai cuisine restaurant - Thai country cafe, thai seafood, and Thai I forgot what it's name
Seki's, it's one of the best in St. Louis
three middle eastern - saleem's, al-tarboush and house of gyros, i recommend house of gyros
Fitz's - soda manufacturing company, nice restaurant, excellent root-beer floats, although IMO its cream-soda floats is much better
Cicero's - fine italian restaurant, they also have a bar.
Blueberry Hill - bar, restaurant, nice place to hang out while playing arcade game, darts, and listening to blues music.
Bubble Tea - If you're from Houston or chicago, and like to drink tea, you'll know this is a must.
St. Louis Bread Co.
The Pageant

You can also visit Botanical Garden, Forest Park, Washington University... historical landmark on Lindell Blvd near St. Louis University.
Hope this helps.

Yes, do visit the Missouri Botanical Garden. Can't believe I left that out. We lived directly across the street for 3 years lol.

Anyway, another restaurant I can think of off the top of my head is the Old Spaghetti Factory in Laclede's Landing.

Others that are downtown, near the Hyatt (at Union Station):

Caleco's
TGI Friday's
Tangerine (neat place)

There is a St. Louis Bread Co. in downtown, too. Great for lunch.

And I also recommend Delmar Restaurant Lounge if you visit the Loop.

I really like Fitz's and Blueberry Hill as well :).

Wish the heck I had the time and I'd give you the Grand Tour! Most places can be accessed riding Metro Link light rail.

The Old Courthouse in downtown is a must.

Might try to make a Cardinal's game at Bush Stadium.....a new stadium will be built soon and this one will be torn down. :(

Don't limit yourself to just St. Louis either.....

It's also a great party place.

There's this national holiday that is held only in St Louis which has a spanish name I don't know how to pronounce but it's in early spring and the translated English meaning is Great American Party in Spring where Everyone gets Drunk.

best restaurant in town (and most expensive) is Tony's (quite good)

not a real "vibrant" city in my opinion

You could've watched the Detroit Red Wings put the St. Louis Blues in the dumpster but you're too late for that.

Go to the riverfront and look at the flood water...............Westport has some nice places to eat................casinos out toward St. Charles and in St. Charles on the river............which once again is flooding.........LOL! Sorry if I have a flood mentality but, I'm about 60 miles West of Downtown in a historic little town on the river, and after last nights rain, and todays forcast rain..................everyone is wondering where the river is going to end up..................;)
