I think the non-deluxe version has maybe only 1 ethernet port and only has the nVidia SATA Raid controllers whereas the deluxe has those plus another set of Silicon SATA Raid controllers. Not positive though, let me check.

[Edit] yeah I just checked on the ASUS site and those two things are the only noticeable differences that jump out. If the regular non-deluxe model was on store shelves at the time I was buying, I'd have bought it instead of my deluxe because I had no real need for 2 ethernet ports and 8 SATA connectors. 1 and 4 respectively would have been fine but ASUS just wanted to make sure that all the "no patience having" people like me bought the more expensive one first before they market the non-deluxe one.
