In grade 7 I told a big black guy that one of the losers in my class called him the N word just to see a fight. That was 16 years ago and to this day I feel horrible every time I think of it. To be honest....I was a real asshole up until about grade 10ish. There many many things I would have done differently up that point in my life.

I jumped someone with 4 other friends and beat him into a 5-week como, because he was an extreme racist. We got off with a "kids will be kids" routine and that we weren't black. I feel like we should been charged with 1st degree assault with attempt to murder. Reason was we still kept beating and stomping on him for 10 minutes after he went unconscious.

I was only 14, the others 14-16.

I feel sorry for him, but at times, don't regret it.

When I was a little kid I used to pull off the legs of dandy long leg spiders, one by one, and watch them walk, until there was only one leg left and it was dragging itself around, then I'd pull that leg too, and just watch it wiggle for a bit, then either let it be or squish it.

When I was a bit older, I used to bring caterpillars in the house and hook up crocodile clips to them and pass 120 volts through, they'd spasm and guts would squirt out. They'd literally fry to a crisp after about 10 seconds, then I'd drop them in my sandbox where the ants lived to see if they liked cooked food. Apparently they don't.

Believe it or not I'm actually an animal lover and was at the time. I actually did not like harming bugs, though I think at that point I was starting to not really care as much about bugs.

As long as he didn't die, it's all good.

My mom became an alcoholic, got cancer, and had a stroke. She sort of went crazy and did some absolutely terrible things and I greatly resented her for it. I just wanted her to apologize for how she was acting but she kept blaming my dad for ruining everything. Because of that I refused to forgive her and I hated her for how she was acting.

She was absolutely awful and miserable for the last few years she was around. I didn't treat her back so great either. I expected her to be around for another 10-15 years, but she died suddenly. Had I known she was going to die, I would've been nicer to her. My mom died thinking that I hated her.

Looking back, I really lacked compassion. Even though she was being awful, she was sick and I should have been nice and caring anyway.

The worst part is that, I can never apologize because she's dead. What's done is done and I just to have live with it.

that is so horrible. it's funny and cool to be a jerk in general and all but i love my mother., and i think everybody should. i'm in like stage three of your situation. i talk to her on the phone though, she calls me all the time. she's living with her sister trying to get back on her feet, get a job and car and stuff. it's like damn, because she was normal for such a long time. i dont know i hope it works out. i always think about your outcome in the back of my mind, though.

One time I spotted a Miata with the top down parked on the side of the road. We had just been given an extra bean burrito by Taco Bell as a mistake, so I instructed my passenger to lean out the window and throw the burrito.

It landed right on the lip of the windshield, splattering all over the inside. Million to one shot, doc. Million to one.

I was about 11 or 12 years old and was trying to get into the swing of this "playful teasing" or "playful threatening" method of talking. Except I wasn't very good at it. I was trying to convince a younger kid (9 or 10) to come to an event and I told her, "if you don't come, I'll kill your pets."

....

Yeah, I was a dumbass kid. Scared her and she told her parents later and I got in trouble.

[edit] As little kid evilness goes, for me this goes up against the one time in 4th grade where I kept teasing the blind kid.

Her parents probably though you meant something else by come...

I smashed a hummingbird once with a hockey stick.

LOL that is awesome, and bad, at the same time.

It was more awesome than words can describe. I wish I had a picture. I remember looking back and seeing the larger half of a tortilla dangling from the top of the windshield, dripping the last of its beany goodness into the cab.

I'm sure one of the shitty things that have happened to me since can be attributed to this.

The first thing that comes to my head was once, in grade school, my friend and i invited this lame kid over to play. Before he got there we filled up a super soaker with pee and then shot it at him when he got there. He ran away and about 30 min later called me and said,

" I know what you did. i saw the bubbles. you put soap in that water"

We died laughing.

I feel bad about it now, but i think i would feel worse if he knew it was actually piss.
His first golden shower, and you denied him the knowledge of its significance.

Six years after my father's death my mother finally got remarried, it was my freshman year in college. The man she married turned out to be a real nutjob, not physically abusive but verbally and emotionally terrible to her. I was, as I said, fresh into college and in a new relationship, and I really cut myself off from her. When she needed me most- and not something unreasonable either, just a willingness to talk more frequently or come visit a little bit more often, I was all caught up in being an oh-so-independent college student away from home. I spent more time with my boyfriend's family that year than with her, and although she finally got up the courage to leave him, I'm certain that if I had been there for her in that time of her life she could have reached that conclusion sooner, or if not sooner at least less painfully and not entirely by herself. It's one of those things that I'll really never quite forgive myself for, but regrets do little for progress. The most I can do is be grateful that I've been given this chance to rectify things- we've become extremely close once more and I am confident that if placed in a similar position I would never again do something so selfish.
