I figured I'd try to get a different type of discussion going on in here, so let's hear it.....what is the worst game you've played in 2007? Any console videogame is up for grabs. Demos count just as much as full versions, since demos are usually what keeps you away from spending money on crap.

For me, it has to be Beautiful Katamari. Shortly after I sold my PS2 a few years ago, Katamari Damacy came over from Japan, and from I read, it was an amazing little title. People loved it, it was critically acclaimed, but I never got a chance to try it out. Then the BK demo hit Live a couple months ago, so I downloaded it to see what everything was about. It.....was......horrible. How did people like this concept and design?

So what's yours?

Well I have a few. I just tried out MoH:Airborne this week and I played for maybe an hour and had to drop it back in the mail immediately. The game was horrible.

Two Worlds was probably the worst, though. Every aspect of that game was just absolutely terrible.

I"ll probably think of more as I sit here :)

Oh man, let's see here. This should be fun. The worst games I played this year are probably:

- Lair
- Two Worlds
- Spider-man 3
- Beowulf
- Tenchu z
- Transformers
- Hour of Victory
- Vampire Rain

Narrowing it down, I would choose Lair, Vampire Rain or Hour of Victory. Its truely difficult for me to widdle it down from there because all three of these are abhorent. They are so absolutely unfun and just down right frustrating to play.

But--as difficult as it may be, if I had to choose one, it would be Lair. The final nail in the coffin (for me), being that you were FORCED to use the motion controls--it was not optional.

Monster Madness and Fusion Frenzy 2 on the 360 were 2 of the worst games I've played in years. (I am not sure if they were released in 2006 or 2007)

I bought Two Worlds this morning as it was on sale for 25$ ... I hope they patch(ed) all those issues plaguing it :(

hmm i don't know what is the worst, but the most disappointing to me was Metroid Prime 3.

there are quite a few i heard were awful but just didn't play.

chrisg22 ... MOH:A was pretty fun IMO. i finished it. the game has quite a few flaws but I had fun playing the first mission and realized it was only 6 missions so I finished it out. it gets ridiculously tough at the end.

Now that I'm reminded of it, I think the Monster Madness demo without a doubt. This game looked like it might be a lot of fun, and similar to Zombies Ate My Neighbors, but unfortunately it suffered from poor gameplay mainly due to the terrible controls.

You can also include pretty much any of the generic FPSs: Vampire Rain, Blacksite, Frontline and maybe even Timeshift. Most of these games even had some excellent concepts but the gameplay was just too generic.

I just saw at Blockbuster yesterday that they made a sequel to Super Swing Golf. I've never played it, but considering that it came out less than a year after the previous one I imagine it sucks just as much.

Skate. Everyone raved about it but I thought it was garbage from the demo.

I haven't been burnt on a game in a long time till this one.
Sigh, me and my friends were looking forward to it so much too.

The Katamari series is an interesting one. You most likely heard the hype but never read what made it good. If you had seen a Katamari game in the store, without reading any of the hype, you would have looked at it, realized it was a budget title, and tossed it back on the shelf, never giving it another thought.

The hype caused a lot of people to buy these games without knowing why. The thing is, they really are fun games, but a lot of people won't be able to get past the overly simplistic controls or the ugly graphics to actually enjoy the game. It doesn't surprise me, but at the same time it shows how certain gamers have built walls around what they will accept as a decent game.

Katamari got a lot of hype because the game looks like shit and almost everyones first time reaction to it is "wtf is that". But lots of people enjoyed the addictive and somewhat challenging game play enough to hype it up. It is best used for a family type event, where there might be a lot of friends or family members gathered around 1 person playing, which is when it can make for a fun game experience for multiple people. It's so simple that 1 person can watch another person play, learn from them as well as plan out their own strategy on the fly while that person is playing and then sit down when it's their turn and execute it.

As for my worst game of 2007, I don't have one, I don't play shitty games.

You know those 360 games that Burger King was giving away? Ya, I actually played them for like 5 minutes each.

I even gave it a full try. When I "finished" the game I realized that it's not even worth looking past the flaws because the story didn't even make the game worth playing. What a rushed waste of 60 bucks. I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone.

Even if you played the top 5 games of all times, one of them has to be the worst.

Edit - The worst olympic sprinter is still faster then you or I.

For me it wasn't the graphics or controls that bothered me, it was just the fact that it was a stupid, unfun game.

Heh, I didn't care much for it either. Went back to Halo 3 pretty quickly. I enjoyed TF back in the day, but I didn't really care for any of the character classes in TF2. Maybe eventually I'll spend some more time with it and become more familiar with the characters and learn to like some. I actually had the most kills with the Medic.

I got it with the Orange Box for $25 when the Best Buy deal came up. The only game I really enjoyed was portal, which was worth around $25. Every character seemed so strong in TF2, and it was impossible to get even a few kills. I might just suck at it, but the whole game seemed very unappealing and I didn't really enjoy the comic book art style.
