I would at least need salt on it. Sauce isn't necessary, but why would you turn down spicy garlic edamame and go for it plain?Sauce? Why you need sauce? I can eat bucket full just plain steamed.
There is goat cheese and then there is strong goat cheese. You must know what you are getting into before eating it. They are nothing alike. It would be like lumping pizza and the bottom of a vomit bucket into one category and claiming that you hate it all.
I like it plain boiled in salt water or steamed. I don't need any sauce.I would at least need salt on it. Sauce isn't necessary, but why would you turn down spicy garlic edamame and go for it plain?
Pyrite is a shiny stone, but its no Gold. Edamame are "fools Peapods," but, the pods are gross and starchy and make you feel sick if you eat them. Apparantly, you are only supposed to eat the inside bits, but why serve them with the pods? It's a fucking boiled soybean. Like a green bean. Wtf?
Really?
Most people I know love it. I think it's great, just too pricey to have often.
It's a mild flavor for a cheese.
Edit: Worse food I've eaten? Octopus sushi; no flavor and awful texture. If you hadn't specified "eaten" I'd say tripe. The smell of it made gag pretty violently. I had to leave the room; never got to eat any of it.
Fern
Really? Those are just fried balls of... sugar? or something? In honey. I mean they aren't crisp (at least the ones I have) and tend to be juicy/slimy with honey, but they taste stupendous. Might have gotten a bad batch? That Indian desert. What is called, "Galub Jamum"?
I'm sure there are great ways to prepare it but I only had it once and never again. The sauce was cold and the insides of the balls were disgustingly slimy.
That's weird. I love canned beans, and sometimes eat them right from the can. Even if they weren't a favorite, I'd think they're fairly unoffensive. Certainly not on a "worst" list, unless you've led a very fortunate life.Canned green beans? Made me retch. And that's not something I've done much.
I usually avoid the bad stuff. I'm canny like that.
Probably have. I just tried to think back to the last time a food made me retch. That's weird. I love canned beans, and sometimes eat them right from the can. Plain tofu.
It's definitely food. There are many varieties of tofu from soft silken to extra firm block tofu. If you don't like tofu, chances are you never had it prepared the right way or you're inexperienced diner. Westerners don't know how to use tofu.Yea but is that really food? Its like chewing on wet balsa wood.
Well that should be a given since Tofu isn't a stable of Western Cuisine. While I can find it in some local stores, it isn't cheap. It's definitely food. He did say plain tofu. Plain tofu is pretty blah. I like it ok when it's cooked with spices. It's definitely food. There are many varieties of tofu from soft silken to extra firm block tofu. 16 oz package is like $2 at Trader Joe's. You call that expensive?Well that should be a given since Tofu isn't a stable of Western Cuisine. While I can find it in some local stores, it isn't cheap.
Who eats tofu plain though? The closest I'll eat it plain is if I pan fry tofu slices and eat it with a side of soy sauce. But my favorite way to eat plain tofu is to slice raw tofu and eat it topped with stir fried kimchi and pork. The warm fatty flavor of pork combined with spicy sour crunchy stir fried kimchi on cold soft tofu just works and makes the best drinking food.He did say plain tofu. Plain tofu is pretty blah. Not too sure about that, but I'd try it. I think I'd rather delete the pork, and fry the tofu in the same style.
I don't live anywhere near Trader Joe's. The last time I've seen it at a few local stores, it was like $4 or $5 for 16 oz.16 oz package is like $2 at Trader Joe's. You call that expensive?
No, you can't leave out the pork. You need the richness from the pork to make everything work. The stir fried kimchi is there to add the spice and the crunch and to counteract the richness of the pork. Everything is there for a reason. Not too sure about that, but I'd try it. I think I'd rather delete the pork, and fry the tofu in the same style.
I've eaten it plain with Sriracha or sweet hot mustard. Also cold in a sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo.Who eats tofu plain though?
That's not plain. You're topping with condiments and other items.I've eaten it plain with Sriracha or sweet hot mustard. Also cold in a sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo.
Well since the tofu wasn't simmered in broth or fried, I would consider that to plain Tofu. That's not plain. You're topping with condiments and other items.
