Super Paper Mario.

I had to force myself to finish the game because I had put so much effort into getting it in the first place.

I've played a lot of steamers in the past few weeks, but Full Auto is the worst. Bad framerates sunk this game faster than the Titanic.

Uninspiring and repetitive music, banal characters, and hideous job system did it for me. I forced myself to play three hours but the game was too lame to keep my interest. That said, I am looking forward to FFIV remake.

I agree. Mostly because I haven't beaten it. I got to the very last boss w/o a problem.. no save points sucked.. because I was wiped out in two turns. Apparently, I should have been grinding longer. I dropped my DS and couldn't pick it up for weeks. Even then, it was to play yoshi's island and mario vs dk.

It's interesting to see everyone's worst game... MP3.. I love the controls. At least for a console. I will always prefer mouse and keyboard. And I found SPM to be excellent, albeit a bit long winded at times.

Oh, my other not so great recent game... phantom hourglass. I just can't get into the controls for this game.

Worst recent demo = Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal. Horrible demo with just god awful graphics and gameplay. I remember many pretty good Looney Tunes and Disney games on the SNES and Genesis but there hasn't been a good one in ages.

Worst game has to be that free piece of shit on Xbox Live Arcade called Yaris. Holy crap..that game is beyond bad. You are some toyota yaris car with some weird laser antenna hooked up to it while you drive on some halfpipe race course while shooting at flying ipods, dogs on skateboards and sumo wrestlers. What were they thinking!

I played a demo of Destroy All Humans over the weekend and wasn't impressed with that game at all. I can't really think of the last truly terrible game I played. I usually check out reviews and only buy games I know I'll enjoy. I was a bit disappointed with New Super Mario Bros but that wasn't bad just not what I expected.

I think my all time worst game I've played is Trespasser on the PC, that was just hideously bad, I'm just grateful that it was my friend who actually paid for it.

It's strange seeing people say Super Paper Mario. I loved that game. It wasn't very deep but the dialogue was good and I just had a great time playing it.

Yeah, to each their own. I think the dialog in Super Paper Mario is hilarious and the gameplay is very tight. Puzzles are hard sometimes, but not overly hard.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Battletoads on the NES. Hit detection was abysmal, graphics were awful, and the fact that the hoverbike level either ended the game for me or took several of my lives, closed the book on that game for me. Superman for the NES was pretty God awful too. More recently Red Steel on the Wii was so awful (mainly due to aiming accuracy and just controls in general) that I purchased and resold it the same week.

I guess Fable for the Xbox. Dreamfall the Longest Journey was really bad too, although I played that on PC, I imagine it could only get worse on a console.

Wow, see I kinda liked Fable.. In fact, I was specifically hoping Two Worlds would turn out similar for me as up to this point there were a few parallels.

When Fable was in development, it got overhyped. Then it came out, and everyone was let down, so it got beat up by the reviews. I got it a bit after release & went in with somewhat low expectations because of the reviews. Once I played the game, I was mildy surprised that it wasn't all that bad. I actually finished it going the good route, but never bothered playing through it again. I would have given Fable around a 7. I would have a hard time giving TW anything over a 1

MySims. Loading for 15 seconds every 45 seconds was pretty much the shittiest gaming experience ever.

I knew this was going to be a thread where everyone just mentioned the biggest game they could think of that they personally hold a grudge against. Hahaha.

Unless a game killed a family member (which I guess in the case of say, everquest, is possible), I don't know how you can have a personal grudge against a game.

What about it makes it so bad? Or perhaps a better question is, what other games have you played recently that are NOT the worst game you've played recently?

Oddly enough, a good friend of mine named Bob Christie dropped dead while in the middle of playing Everquest due to a brain clot in 2003. I contribute to his memorial scholarship every year for my school.

People tend to hold grudges against games either because they can't afford the game, can't afford the subscription fees, can't afford the console, or simply didn't like it as much as they thought it was hyped. For any of these reasons people go on their little crusades. Let's look at some of the games listed: Halo 3, Metroid Prime 3, FF3 for DS, Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess, Orange Box, Twisted Metal, Fable, Dreamfall TLJ, GRAW.

I mean cmon, if these are the worst games you've played you should consider yourself pretty lucky.
