I noticed svchost.exe was using 50% CPU out of my four cores. It was caused by the Windows Snapshot Access service that was set to automatic. I did a search on Google and nothing came up. I stopped it and set it to manual.

In general it a mistake to play with services because of CPU resources indication.

This type of behaviors comes and go according to the general functioning of the computer and many times means Nothing to real functioning.

AFAIK it is some thing involves with Office 2007 Access.

Try to run it switched Off a while (if it really makes any difference).

Put a big Note to remind you that you change the setting of this service.

Some services (especially svchost ones) have other processes depending on them, if suddenly that dependent "Kick in" it might not be functioning correctly.
