Howdy,
After watching hoardes of yuppies in their SUVs and luxury sedans come and go during the last 5 years, began to wonder what would constitute the ultimate yuppie scum vehicle of the 1996-2001 era.

Cast your vote.

I nominate the BMW X5. Since it's a BMW, arguable the most chosen yuppie automobile line, and also an SUV, two birds with one stone. Expensive, gas guzzling, oversized and with questionable off road capability... to paraphrase BMW: "the ultimate poseur machine." Don't get me wrong, the BMW M3 is awesome.

I think a yuppie vehicle would be one that looked real nice and was expensive but had no real power... The X5's the most powerful SAV out there
 
I get cut off by more losers in BMW's than any other car. :| I nominate BMW in general. Oh, that and the Lexus SC430.
 
Gotta be the Hummer. A totally ridiculous vehicle for civilian use....and f*cking expensive to boot.

Living in Texas, I nominate all 2WD Chevy Tahoes and Suburbans. I can't tell you how many I see taking up two parking spaces and blocking intersections every day.
 
Lamborghini? no. if you have enough money for that, you are not a yuppie.. you are a millionaire.. those cars are gorgeous mechanical works of art.. i certainly wouldn't judge someone as a yuppie driving one of those.. i'd respect them and their tastes in fine automobiles... i think any base model car with a high class name on it, like a Mercedes C-220 with hub caps, what a total POS.. no power, no anything.. yet people look all big and tough driving it.. the car totally sucks..
same with a 318 or 316 BMW.. for crap sakes it's the size of a Suzuki Swift.. they are lame.. the higher end models are actually very nice cars, (540i, M5, 750i)
but these base models are just jokes.. esp. the C220, that is an awful car.. i know people who have one.. it's really bad.. that's personally my yuppie class vehicle of choice (Mainly the C220 or similar model).. to NOT buy of course.

I'm just saying if you're going to lump yuppies in a group, I've got a bigger bone to pick with the noizy fvcks. I have seen (mostly heard) some bumpin' boneheads in small SUVs, but mostly Hondas and Toyotas. Hmmm, the small SUVs are usually Hondas and Toyotas anyway!

Whoa dude, care to back that statement up with some facts!?!?!? I have a hard time being convinced that the X5 is the most powerful SAV (I assume you mean SUV) out there when being compared to the likes of the Yukon, Suburban, and Expedition. Maybe most powerful in it's class, but overall in the SUV world... I don't think so.

My vote for the ultimate yuppie scum vehicle would be the Lexus RX300. It has no back seat room(at least for a person 6' or taller) and it cannot go off-road worth crap. The X5 is the second most yuppie scum of the suv's out there with the Acura (model number?) coming in a close third

Well...toss in the Cadillac Escalade and the Lincoln Navigator.

Three completely useless vehicles whose only purpose on this planet is to increase profits for the automakers at the expense of both the environment and the drivers' vanity.
 
I'd nominate SUVs in general. If just yuppie, I'd say the VW jetta. Cool car, but one owned by most of by brother-in-law's geekie yuppy friends with nicknames like "Duppy" and "Fru"
