I'll say catcher, but I think it's a tossup between C, SS, and CF. Catchers get the hell beaten out of them and have to have the good mental game too. Shortstop is the most athletic position, with CF a close runner up because of all the ground to cover.

If you mean physically I would definately say catchers and/or pitchers. Catchers are known for getting hell on their knees and plus having all that equipment on is a pain while trying to keep the wild pitches in front of you and throwing out runners must be one hell of a mission as well. I was surprised you didn't put pitchers since they are a MAJOR part of the game. They basically decide the game because if they aren't on you could lose the game in the 1st inning and physically their arms wear and tear like nobodies business.

It all has to do with who touches the ball more frequently since they have more affect in the game on average. Just like the Quarterback in football. All the rest of the players on the field rarely see the ball(compared to catcher/pitcher) except for the First Baseman which would see it on every ground ball.(Hopefully)

Forgot to mention: I was in little league and played all positions every now and again and nothing was more stressful than catcher/pitcher since the game was constantly in your hands. At least the defensive side.
