MASH!

As in "Should I mash it? The left or right?"

LOL. I hear people say that too.
In the future I'm sure people will pick on people for saying things like "Turn on the tv", why do you say turn when you are pressing a button the remote ?

i think the turn is referencing turning the state of the tv from off to on, I guess "Change on the tv" would be a literal equivalent of sorts.

Actually it is from when tv had a switch that you physically had to turn. Same thing with the phrase "Turn the channel", because of the old rotary tuners.

Funny how stuff like that sticks with people.

in software, there are three things:

mouse press
mouse release
mouse click (basically the cursor needs to be over the same object for the press and release to register a click)

Any of the above terms can be post fixed with:
button 1
button 2
button 3

in programming, it is referred to as

OnMouseClick
OnMouseRightClick
OnMouseDoubleClick

I think click is universal. I don't know that there is any more technical term.

There has to be a more technical term...doesn't there?

If not, we need to make one up.

Okay, how about diddle? It moves the cursor over the link it wants to select and then it diddles the mouse button...or else it gets the hose again.

No, no, no, no, no, no.

"ENGAGE!"

If you could get a Jonathan Frakes mousepad you would be win.

I am torn between this and AOOOGA.

Engage for left click, AOOOGA for right click?
