what is the smallest wireless access point on the market

i'm a deployment engineer so that means that I have to work a lot in datacenters in sometimes cramped conditions. I'm looking for a wireless access point to have connectivity to my equipment so I can move to a place where it is more comfortable to work

i'm looking for something
- very small, very important because I have to carry it around all the time
- decent security (WPA)
- overall decent performance and hassle free

the idea is to switch it off and take it with me to my hotel after I'm done for the day

Take a look at Asus they make one to.

Since you are going to use it in a room in an hotel any AP would be OK.

If you're not opposed to a little work, you can get a Fonera and flash the firmware over to DD-WRT. It's not as simple as doing a firmware upgrade from a GUI as you have to do a little bit of hoop jumping, but you can get a Fonera for $11 shipped with the right promo code (available at slickdeals.net.) I have a Fonera that I've flashed with DD-WRT and it works perfectly and would do exactly what you want it to. :)

There;s a Linksys one with built in plug. WTR54GS travel router. It has 1 WAN port and 1 ethernet port. If you need more features, you can try 3rd party firmware on it.

I use an Apple AIrport Express. It's about half the size of a pack of cigarettes and (out of the box) has integrated AC prongs.

It can also use an extension cord for power to get it to a better elevation.

It works good, I Like it.

I second the AirPort Express, I actually use them in a (very) small business setting because they do exactly what we need them to, and are damn reliable.
