This sounds like an uninformed opinion to me. Everyone is fat for different reasons. I am overweight but I don't overeat, it's just a matter of not exercising enough. I find it much easier to say no to unhealthy foods and large portions, but that alone still hasn't been enough for me to lose weight, only maintain it.

Eating less is easy, it takes no time at all. Exercising isn't nearly so easy, especially when it's cold outside.

And face it, a lot of skinny people don't exercise or watch what they eat. They might naturally need to eat less to get full, but a lot of them do not exercise with any kind of regularity.

So you're saying that if you went full vegetarian with virtually zero fat intake, your body is just going magically turn fiber into fat?

A vegetarian diet that consists of a lot of carbs and sugar is much worse for you than a high protein diet.

I'm slowly changing my lifestyle into a higher activity, lower sugar, more protein direction.

Eating everything in moderation, instead of gorging on everything. Even fat people can be thin if they have self discipline. Don't blame it all on genes while eating 10x the intended serving portion.

No they can't. Fat people can't be thin. If they were thin, they wouldn't be fat anymore.

Well yeah if you take the "veg" out of vegetarian and are stuck with mostly grains and fruits yeah it'll build up. You can say that about any given diet really. Most vegetarians I know are big on salads, low on everything else, and are correspondingly thin.
