"What is the single best thing we can do for our health"

I thought the answer was going to be "drink beer and eat buffalo wings while watching Monday Night Football". What's in the youtube link?

The two activities (watching football and walking) are not incompatible. Just position the TV as far from the fridge and bathroom as you can.

Eating everything in moderation, instead of gorging on everything. Even fat people can be thin if they have self discipline. Don't blame it all on genes while eating 10x the intended serving portion.

I just took a new job where I will have a 3/4 mile walk to the office. Kind of excited about that, that will be a mile and a half a day.

Make sure you are squared away with the three big killers:

Heart Disease - Don't smoke.

Lung Disease / Cancer - Don't smoke.

Diabetes - Don't consume 1000g of sugar a day.

Walk aimlessly around the office.

"What are you doing? Don't you have work to do?"

"I'm reducing your medical insurance costs."

I thought stroke was a bigger killer than Lung Disease / Cancer or Diabetes, but maybe you're just talking about preventable death?

Not smoke

I always feel I miss out due to never starting smoking. Which means I have to go on to the next item in most lists, which, sadly, usually involves taking exercise. If I'd only thought to take up smoking I could get that feel-good buzz of improving my health without having to deal with the exercise thing.

Or find some kind of active activity involving friends, it's easier this way.

Or like another poster said, don't eat your life out of you.

This sounds like an uninformed opinion to me. Everyone is fat for different reasons. I am overweight but I don't overeat, it's just a matter of not exercising enough. I find it much easier to say no to unhealthy foods and large portions, but that alone still hasn't been enough for me to lose weight, only maintain it.

Eating less is easy, it takes no time at all. Exercising isn't nearly so easy, especially when it's cold outside.

And face it, a lot of skinny people don't exercise or watch what they eat. They might naturally need to eat less to get full, but a lot of them do not exercise with any kind of regularity.

Out of all the things, the biggest is probably more cardio. Daily walk would be best.
Smoking is not something everyone does. For those that do, quitting would be nice, but a daily cardio routine is still better.

Nothing of what you said stands to facts. You're the one that sounds uninformed and just made up some shit in your head to feel better about yourself. People differ in metabolism, but at the end of the day how much you eat is ultimately what matters. Fat people don't magically form matter inside themselves.
