I have some steaks in the fridge that haven't even seen a hint of flame yet.

ATOT obligatory response = I'd say your mom's digits, but everyone has those.

Most rare items would be my pop's WWII photos. Have a couple of him hosting former POTUS Ike, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicholas during a Charity golf event too.

BurnItDwn already used that one, get your own material. ;)

I admit I only scanned the thread. :p

I mean I own plenty of original art, so that's all 1 of 1. Though I think the intent of this thread is really about 'unusual' items rather than outright rarity. I have a copy of TES: Oblivion signed by the entire dev team for xbox 360. I won it was part of some contest back in the day. I'm not sure its the only copy in existence like that, but there are probably less than 10. There were only a handful of winners.

I never thought I'd spend $5K on a pair of women's shoes, but it is one of five in the world.

My kids. :) Each is a one of a kind! My wife's combination of loyalty, beauty, talent and intelligence is very rare also.
I have a coin collection with a lot of rare coins collected and purchased over the years, one highlight of the collection is a 1924 S St Gaudens Double Eagle, but my favorite is a group Morgan Dollars from the Las Vegas Binion Hoard. I like the history they have with them as well as the patina.

What piece of music? Is it published elsewhere?

No, it is not published anywhere to anyone's knowledge. Why is of course unknown. IIRC the consensus is that it was written somewhere between Mozart's mid to late teens, possibly early 20's. It's a page of a piano piece, most likely a sonata, that includes the end of a section in 16th notes, a few transitional bars, and a complete (!) melody. My mother played it for me several times over the years. It sounds nice, definitely Mozart to my ear. I've looked at many Mozart scores and the note writing is a dead-on match.

Just think - I most likely have exclusive ownership of a tune Mozart wrote. That's probably the coolest part of the whole thing.

Probably a Bil Ol' Donkey Kong plush I got out of a Nintendo catalog once. I begged and begged my mom for it. $100 was a LOT of money to spend on it, but it's just so awesome.

2 pre-1840 dutch "gouden tientje" gold coins.
Bought some for the gold value, but it turned out 2 are worth a lot more as collector pieces.

Probably my Killer Instinct 2 arcade cabinet.

It even has a custom carved vagina on Orchid! I'm assuming some teen thought it was hilarious to do that at the arcade before I bought it from them.

That would make my dvd-audio worth more no?

I think it's worth less because DVD Audio encryption was broken a long time ago, and it's quite easy to make backups. Whereas SACD backups/copies require jumping through quite a few hoops like getting a really old PS3 with the right firmware on it, and the backups only work on very specific unpatched players like older Oppos. You also have to be in quite a boutique market to be playing DSD to start with.

I have seen dsd rips, not that I care about it. DSD as a concept is just weird.
