That itty bitty .01% can produce a lot of differences, particularly hereditary, including skin tone, eye shape (Asians), broadened noses, straight hair v. afro hair, lots of body hair v. scant body hair, etc.As 99.99% of all DNA between 'races' is exactly the same I doubt it's anything to do with your lineage.

Some people even have several fewer or more muscles than others, accessory organs like spleens and livers, the list is quite extensive.
