Are people really going to sift through this massive thread, and give suggestions to people. Is this method really working, please fill me in...I think I am missing something here.

thanks

It is there so newbies don't clutter up the hot deals forum by creating their own IWANNA threads...;)

I don't think it really works. But I don't care, it gets rid of clutter. Instead of ignoring dozens of threads, I only have to ignore the IWANNA thread. :)

I liked it better when people could post requests (pre buy.com WMC, pre value america), but there are so many dopes on the boards now that don't bother to use the search function that they ruined it for everyone else.

I think it should be a seperate forum, not a thread in hot deals :) If they give me a cool title, like "The Iwanna Iguana," I would donate my time to sifting through the crap and posting links to help the potzers out :)

once a year santaclaus comes to anandtech and picks up the IWANNA thread so he can reward the good lil boys & girls. the rest of us will get lumps of burned up motherboards in our stockings. :D

A couple of times when I posted a request someone pm's me to tell me where to get a deal. But most of the time no one responds.

yawp, my thoughts exactly. No one really uses it but people don't want to see a whole bunch of "Where can I find the best deal on Blah blah blah" threads

Actually, I've posted a few times on the IWANNA thread and gotten several useful PM's regarding my requests.
