What is the point of RSS feeds?

it's news the way it should be. Practically real time (after post). No need to go to a website to see it. I get small popups from the RSS plugin in Trillian... it's AWESOME. Top stories & hot deals, etc. exactly when they get posted.

I have the Yahoo and Slashdot RSS feeds and make new threads on ATOT if it's interesting. I'm always first... (you can be too).

It's a way of knowing what updates have been added to a web page so you don't have to load it up in a browser. I use it here for new topics and Tech Bargains for new deals.

It's a way of not opening and browser and being able to link/read of a lot of websites at one time.

I have Google Personalize My Homepage with like 8 RSS feeds, so I don't visit those sites anymore, if there is nothing to read.
