The gardener plants an evergreen
Whilst trampling on a flower.
I chase the wind of a prism ship
To taste the sweet and sour.
The pattern juggler lifts his hand;
The orchestra begin.
As slowly turns the grinding wheel
In the court of the crimson king.

On soft grey mornings widows cry,
The wise men share a joke;
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax.
The yellow jester does not play
But gently pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king

Good choice!

Just off the top of my head:
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced? (and everything else)
Doors - The End (etc)
Sonovan - Mellow Yellow, Sunshine Superman
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask
Strawberry Alarm Clock - Incense and Peppermint
Moody Blues - Nights In White Satin PLUS Procol Harum - Whiter Shade of Pale
Country Joe & the Fish - Electric Music Martha Larayne
Byrds - 8 Miles High
Dead - anything
Quicksilver - What About Me
Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn Album, 1967 (first album?)

And at this point, the aftereffects of all those drugs kicks in and I can't remember any more. Except The Warlocks, of course.

EDIT: my vote for most psychedelic song is Are You Experienced, because it never sounds the same way twice.

First song I ever got baked to was

"
We skipped the light fandango
Turned some cartwheels across the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
When the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
And the ceiling flew away
When I called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray
And so it was later
When the miller told this tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, "There is no reason
And the truth is plain to see"
That I wandered through my playing cards
And could not let her be, no
One of 16 vestal virgins
Who was leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might just as well have been closed
And so it was later
When the miller told this tale
He said that her face at first just ghostly
And then turned a whiter shade of pale
And so it was later
When the miller told this tale
He said that her face at first just ghostly
Then turned a whiter shade of pale
Oh, just a whiter shade of pale
Then turned a whiter shade of pale"

And as I went very white (and I start off pale) it was quite apt! (Except there's no bit on n the song about throwing up, having a nap then eating lots of cheese on toast!

Whiter Shade of Pale is an awesome song. Generally I'm a fan of 60s psychedelic songs, but there are a few that just... oof. Working in radio at an Oldies station drilled them into my brain.
