I don't know, but I see pwned people, the lot that said "Pfffftttt, 4 GB of RAM!!! NEVA!"

If pcslookout said 4 GB of RAM would be "necessary and standard" in 2007, which he agrees that he did say and reiterates that it was correct in that thread, then he was the one who was pwned. 4 GB of RAM still isn't necessary for most computer users. I still only have 2 GB in my work laptop.

Hands down that guy that said he was locked up for a week for stealing (supposedly) an iPhone at Walmart.

lulz

EDIT: Found it via google, lol. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2107564

God, that one is so fantastic. It just gradually snowballs.

We first find out that he was arrested and in jail for 8 days. Ok, that could be an actual miscarriage of justice. But wait... They were at Walmart at 1 AM because they had to wait until after his girlfriend's work check was cleared at midnight to have enough money to buy snacks. He was in jail for 8 days because he couldn't come up with 150 bucks to cover the bail. He is a self proclaimed drug user of weed and other stronger drugs. He has admitted to stealing repeatedly from schools and stores in the past and claims no regret. He then claims that he hasn't stolen in years despite the fact that he admits to stealing a friend of a friend's Iphone 16GB 3gs. And despite not having 150 bucks for bail he was selling an unusually large number of blu ray movies (many of which I think were unopened). He's also posted multiple threads where he proposes various scams and even a thread asking for donations for his girlfriend.

Oh, and I love Fingolfin269's deconstruction of the events that must have transpired.

So the OP went to the store to pick up some snacks, found a phone, person who lost phone remembered exactly where she lost phone, realized it wasn't there(and it did not occur to her upon not finding it that maybe she left it elsewhere), went to security, found someone in security, found a video over the exact spot where she lost phone, figured out exactly who it was who took the phone, went through surveillance to figure out that he left and where he went, grabbed two cops and found him in the parking lot?

That's the best 1AM surveillance crew ever assembled. EVER. And I'm not just talking about Wal-Mart.

Of course this time line is only believable if the OP and his GF are the slowest 1AM snack shoppers in the history of 1AM snack shoppers. (i.e. the OP was smoking at his car at 6AM outside of Wal-Mart)

EDIT: Oh yeah, another great thread was the guy that sold something on Ebay and the buyer ended up disputing the transaction because what he got was not what was advertised. The seller came here complaining about it and it turns out that someone on AT found the actual auction and the seller put the relevant information (I think that it was broken or something) in WHITE TEXT so that it was in the listing but of course invisible. Much ownage was had that day.

EDIT EDIT: Found it! :awe:

Someone was once selling a projector for several hundred dollars and hot-linked an AT-er's image. Much fun was had. An AT-er ended up "buying" the auction and demanding that the seller honor his "offer."

Allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go.

Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake

Dennifloss.

WE don't talk about it, but for all of us that were here, that confession thread will forever be the single greatest moment and maybe its single most disappointing moment in the entire history of the Anandtech forums. It will never be forgotten maybe in the history of the internet. That thread was talked about everywhere.
