outside of the 1972 Olympic events that were mentioned, I would say when Michelle Kwan got the silver medal in Nagano. That, and when she bowed out of the last winter olympics.

Also, Cal screwing up after they reach the top 5 seemingly every year since Tedford took over.

Fresno State VS. USC 2005 football game. 🙁

That was a heck of a game, but it wasn't too depressing for me since I really wasn't expecting the Bulldogs to hang with the Trojans. The really depressing part came afterwards when Fresno State lost the rest of their games that season, and the following season wasn't so great either 🙁

A few more

NCAA Football -

1985 National Championship being crowned to BYU when Washington was considered by most experts to be the best team in the nation after defeating #2 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl (Washington had 1 loss and played a vigorous pac-10 schedule).

NFL Football -

2005 Seattle Seahawks losing to the Steelers. There's enough factual documentation on the game to see that there were more than a few calls against Seattle to kill their moment and even steal a touchdown or two. Whether it decided the outcome of the game we'll never know.

The day Michael Jordan officially retired. I haven't watched NBA basketball since then. It's all down hill from there. Too many thugs and wannabes in the game now.

I am a College football junkie, i have my favorite teams but like them all and watch every game that comes on. I have two things that depress me the most.

1. FSU - year after year Bobby continues to hang around, he has one hell of a record, part of the old croud, I wish he would let go so the program could turn around.

2. Seeing the season come to an end....... Cant wait until the season starts....

1919 World Series.. We've only won the series a few times, so one more would have been nice, plus not losing those players would have led to more series.

Syracuse losing to Indiana on a last second shot by Keith Smart in the 87 College Basketball Championship.

When I discovered that there's a "sport" called Curling, and it's played in the Olympic.

Good one.

Never have understood how something like this can be considered an Olympic sport, and others like bowling or golf, with FAR more participants world-wide are not.
