Um... I guess the time when somebody got depressed over a game somebody else was playing. That's pretty sad.

Don't know if I can pinpoint just one, but a couple that come to mind immediately: Wide Right and No Goal.

1999 Belmont Stakes, Charismatic. Won the Derby at incredible odds, won the Preakness at long odds, was set to win the Belmont but broke a leg coming around the final curve with his jockey desperately trying to pull him up and still finished third. Chris Antley finally pulls him to a stop after the finish, falls off the horse in tears and grabs his leg, trying to keep it off the ground.

6:37 (comes around the stretch) and 7:15 (Antley stops him)

For me it would've probably been a tie between when Magic first retired (moral and literal depressing moment) and the day Chick Hearn died.

(I dunno, thinking about it, I'm leaning toward Chick Hearn)

The UT-UGA game in 2001 was bad. To make it worse this was the only game I got to see live all year (flew in from AZ). :( We had just scored on a 62yd screen pass to take the lead wit 44sec left then

Oilers. 2005/06. Game 7, Stanley Cup Final.

Pronger sucking, and Samsonov with drop passes to no one in particular.

Make no mistake about it, they were supposed to win that series. With Roloson going down and Markkanen coming in and standing on his head, and the Oilers taking it to 7 after being down 3-1.... yeah. They should have won that series.

Patriots perfect season, lose superbowl. like, DAMN!

For much of the world that was the #1 funniest moment in sports.
The moment would have only been better if Eli Manning held up the Superbowl Trophy and said "Fuck you Tiki!"

If it weren't for Buffalo's wonderful luck in the world of professional sports, Carolina wouldn't have even been in the finals.
